CurriculumOur roles in school are centred around making sure that as professionals we keep up to date with Teaching and Learning strategies ensuring the very best provision for our students to enable them to develop the skills and knowledge they need to be life-long learners and good citizens.
At King Edward VI High School we follow the statutory requirements of the National Curriculum at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. We are, however, keen to ensure that students are educated beyond the National Curriculum requirements and that they undertake a range of educational experiences aimed at enriching and extending their abilities and understanding. Throughout the year groups there is an emphasis on language and communication, cross-curricular links, work related learning, IAG, (Information Advice and Guidance) citizenship, enterprise education, educational visits, foreign exchanges, technological advantage and building links with the local and wider community. We believe that it is important for students to come to understand through all aspects of the curriculum that they are ‘global citizens’ who form part of a diverse culture which exists beyond the confines of school. We look forward to meeting you; please contact us at school if you would like to discuss any aspect of Teaching and Learning and/or Personal Development.
