New Leader of Year 7 and Transition In September 2016, I will be taking over as Leader of Year 7 from Mrs Harte and look forward to meeting parents and pupils. Mrs Harte has not gone anywhere, but will be taking on a new role in school as Assistant Headteacher and SENCO. New Blog One of the ways to I will keep you informed will be this new Year 7 Blog. The blog aims to keep Year 7 pupils and parents up-to-date with news and information affecting your year group. This will launch fully in September. Get Ready for KEVI For now, if you have any questions about starting at your new school in September, why not visit our brand new dedicated transition website, Get Ready for KEVI. On there you will find FAQs about starting at high school and our answers to them, information about uniform, contact information and what happens on the first day. Don't forget about our Summer Club too! I look forward to meeting all new Year 7s on 7th September! Hope you all have a relaxing Summer break. Kind regards, Mr Lomas Leader of Year 7 and Transition (from September 2016)

The Junior Maths Challenge is run by the UK Mathematics Trust and is aimed at those students in years 7 and 8. It is a one hour multiple choice paper that tests students’ ability to solve mathematical problems and challenges. Marks are awarded for correct answers but are deducted for wrong answers so it does encourage students to think rather than to guess.
Students at King Edward VI High School achieved 1 gold, 6 silvers and 8 bronzes in this year’s UKMT Junior Maths Challenge. Over 250,000 students from across the UK sat the Junior Maths Challenge with roughly the top 6% receiving a gold certificate, the next 13% silver and then next 21% bronze. This year’s certificate winners are: Year 8 Isabella Terry (Gold and Best in School) Robbie Cartlidge (Silver) Jack Gulliver (Silver) Oscar Harte (Silver) Tamsin Pritchard (Silver) Lottie Lowndes (Bronze) Molly Dewsbury (Bronze) Harry Taylor (Bronze) Shannon Hendy (Bronze) Lauren Mills (Bronze) Georgia Stanyer (Bronze) Year 7 Ethan Edwards (Silver and Best in Year) Lucy Evans (Silver) Beth Bowyer (Bronze) Jessica Hedar (Bronze) A huge Congratulations to all of the students who took part.
