20/1/2021 Year 9 Parents' Evening postponedDear Parents/Carers,
Due to COVID-19 restrictions and the current national lockdown we have decided to delay the Year 9 Parents' Evening, originally planned for the 9th February, until next half term. Annual reports will be coming out as planned in the next few weeks. In usual times, we would have been offering careers guidance and discussing pathway and subjects choices ready for Key Stage 4 with our Year 9 students, however with lockdown restrictions we have decided to delay the Options process for a few weeks while we consider the best way to manage the process. The new parents' evening date will be planned to allow parents to discuss subjects choices with teachers and we will confirm the new date next half term. Thank you for your understanding, Ms E J Knights Assistant Headteacher Dear Parents/Carers ,
Due to national lockdown restrictions our parents evenings will be run virtually this year. The Year 11 Parents evening will be held on Tuesday 2nd February between 4pm and 6pm. Appointments can be made as usual using the parents evening booking system https://kevi.parentseveningsystem.co.uk or navigate through the Menu > Login section of the school website, www.kevi.org.uk. The booking system will be available from Wednesday 20th January. Smartphones can be used for the video appointments, if you don’t have a smartphone with a front-facing camera you can use a laptop or computer with a webcam. It is recommended that you use a headset or earphones with a microphone to reduce echo. On the day of the evening, log into the Parents evening at https://kevi.parentseveningsystem.co.uk or click the login link from the bottom of the email confirmation you will have received. Once logged in you will see a notice that you have an upcoming video appointment and under this the details of the event, along with a Join Video Appointments button. This will become available 60 minutes before your first appointment. Further details and help guides on using the parents evening system are available here. Each appointment will last for 5 minutes, when a teacher joins a call you will see them in the main part of the screen - or hear them, if they have no camera (or have turned it off) - and you can start your discussion with them. You will also see the remaining time for the appointment counting down in the blue bar at the top of the screen. When the countdown in the blue bar stops the appointment time is over and the call will automatically end. Teachers have no ability to extend the appointment time and the calls do stop automatically after 5 minutes, if you delay starting a call it does not extend the duration for that appointment, the appointment will always end at the scheduled time. These are unusual times for us all but we hope that this alternative method of holding parents evenings allows teachers and parents to have valuable conversations about the students whilst keeping everyone safe.
